  4. Villasimus - South East Sardinia

Originally nothing more than a fishing village Villasimius now represents the capital of the night life in the South East of Sardinia; bars and clubs in this part of the island are numerous and lively and here is where people come to see people.

Never the less Villasimius has certainly more to offer than drinks and live music and its fresh food served in the restaurants or the beautiful beaches and cove for example, are certainly second to none.

  5. Stintino - North West Sardinia

A very popular resort amongst holidaymakers Stintino still resembles a fishing village in winter but when summer arrives the all town blossoms with life; there are bustling bars and restaurants and the hotels in Stintino can get very busy.

The town was originally built in 1885 as a detention centre by the Isle of Asinara’s inhabitants. Some of the original architectural aspects can still be found in the old town which lies on a peninsula between two deep gorges.

Very popular, and convenient if you planning a stay in one of the hotels in Stintino, are the beaches ‘delle Saline’ and ‘Pelosa’. Made to guard this coastline are two old Spanish towers which are named the tower ‘delle Saline’ and the tower ‘della Pelosa’. Just in front of the tower ‘della Pelosa’ is the stunning Isle of Asinara.

If you are planning to visit, make sure you book one of the hotels in Stintino before the crowds.

  6. Costa Rei - South East Sardinia

  7. Olia Speciosa - South East Sardinia

Situated just a few kilometers from the resort of Costa Rei, Olia Speciosa (literally 'fragrant olive') is a small but colourful town.

Here all the facilities necessary to guarantee a relaxing and pleasant holiday can be found; visitors will be able to buy fresh meat from the local butcher whereas at the fishmongers shop fish is delivered fresh every morning after the night catch.

For all other groceries there is also a very well furnished and convenient supermarket located just at the entrance of the town; here you can be sure you are never too far from what you need should you opt for a last minute barbecue!

Together with couple of pizzerias in the town you can also find a pharmacy, a post office, a bank and (for some, most important...) the 'cantina sociale', a place where the wine is produced and sold locally directly from the producer to the customers.

Here the wine can be bought by the pump like you would buy petrol at a gas station.

  8. San Teodoro - North East Sardinia

San Teodoro is one of the most popular holiday resorts in the North East cost of Gallura for the untouched beauty of its beaches and the cristal clear water of the sea – just to name few that are absolutely worth a visit during your time here are Punta Molara, Capo Coda Cavallo, Marina di li Impostu, Punta li l’Aldia, L’Isuledda and Cala Brandinchi.

The North East coast of Gallura starts at San Teodoro with 3kms of sandy beach, named Cinta beach, which is famous for its white powdery sand. Cinta beach sits close to San Teodoro wetland area and the sea here stretches the length of this beautiful strip of pure, fine white sand, which is protected from the northern winds from the rock of Punta Sabbatino. However beware it can get crowded in the high season (July and August). San Teodoro’s vast wetland is also one of the most important wetlands in Sardinia and hosts an interesting and intriguing variety of flora and fauna.

At the base of the wild headland of Monte Pedrosu is the beautiful Cala Girgolu, in front of which stands the stunning Isle of Tavolara, breathtaking!

  9. Isola Rossa - North Sardinia

Bosa Marina beach is enclosed on its northern side by a long pier that joins Isola Rossa with the mainland, on which is a well preserved ancient tower. This tower, named Isola Rossa’s tower, is one of many ancient towers in Sardinia and was built by Spaniards in the XV century.

Isola Rossa is a small charming resort on the northern coast of Sardinia. Its name (Red island) comes from the red granite rock, characteristic of the area that lies just in front of the island’s village.

The beaches of Marinedda and Grande right at the centre of the village have white sand and deep crystal clear waters. You can also find a small marina and a good selection of restaurants, of which the restaurant at the Hotel Corallo comes strongly recommended.
